Gluten is the protein found in wheat, rye and barley (just to name a few). According to the Center of Celiac Disease, 1 in 132 people have celiac disease and 15 times that number have a gluten sensitivity or intolerance. Reactions to gluten show up in various ways from mucus, congestion and irritability to diarrhea, constipation and low energy. With so many symptoms, it is often very difficult to diagnose. For those who do not suffer from a gluten allergy or sensitivity,  gluten-free grains are a better alternative for the body often causing less bloating, digestive problems and sometimes hidden inflammation. How can I test to see if I have a gluten sensitivity?

The best way to see if you have a gluten sensitivity is to do an elimination diet.  This means eliminating ALL gluten containing products from your diet for 3 weeks, then reintroducing gluten back into the diet and see how you react. This is the most sound way to test for sensitivities.
