Why gluten free?


Gluten is the protein found in wheat, rye and barley (just to name a few). According to the Center of Celiac Disease, 1 in 132 people have celiac disease and 15 times that number have a gluten sensitivity or intolerance. Reactions to gluten show up in various ways from mucus, congestion and irritability to diarrhea, constipation and low energy. With so many symptoms, it is often very difficult to diagnose. For those who do not suffer from a gluten allergy or sensitivity,  gluten-free grains are a better alternative for the body often causing less bloating, digestive problems and sometimes hidden inflammation. Why sugar free?
  Sugar is an addictive substance that wrecks havoc in the body. Refined sugar is free of minerals, vitamins and nutrients so when they body digests it, it has to draw on its own reserves, causing a deficiency in the body. Our products are certified by a third party authority, Vegan Action. This certification verifies that we do not use any animal products or test on animals. The certification seal helps consumers shop without having to consult ingredient list.

How can I test to see if I have a gluten sensitivity?

  The best way to see if you have a gluten sensitivity is to do an elimination diet.  This means eliminating ALL gluten containing products from your diet for 3 weeks, then reintroducing gluten back into the diet and see how you react. This is the most sound way to test for sensitivities.

Are your mixes made in a gluten free facility?   Our products are packaged in a dedicated gluten free facility. All of our raw ingredients come certified by our suppliers to be free of gluten.
How should I store the baking mix once I open the bag?   For the most fresh tasting treats, we recommend keeping the bag in the refrigerator.
When will my products ship?   We try to get all orders shipped the day of ordering. All orders placed after 12pm will be shipped the following day. Orders placed after 12pm on Friday will be shipped on Monday.
Are the non-organic flours non-gmo?   Yes, all our non-organic flours are free of genetically modified organisms.  We are currently in the process of joining the non-GMO project to become certified non-GMO.
Can I substitute coconut oil for olive oil?   Yes, extra virgin coconut oil is a delicious alternative! You can substitute 1 for 1 ratio. We recommend you use the oil melted. Extra virgin coconut oil is a medium chain fatty acid that helps to nourish the thyroid, act as an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. Plus, rather then getting stored as fat in the body, it gets used as energy. 
My pancakes are to thin? My pancakes are too thick?   If the batter is too runny, add more pancake mix 2 tbsp at a time.  If it is too think, add more non-dairy milk as needed.
